The Falcon House supplies Monsooned Malabar AA, a single-origin Indian Arabica cured by monsoon winds on the Malabar Coast, roasted medium-dark, with very low acidity and a heavy body, to cafés, restaurants and offices in London. Wholesale quantities, pricing and delivery to London are quoted per order via [email protected].

What we supply in London

  1. Monsooned Malabar AA: 100% Arabica grown in the Western Ghats at 1,000–1,400 m and monsooned in Mangalore for 12–16 weeks, then roasted medium-dark.
  2. Cup: dark cacao, earthy spice, pipe tobacco, toasted walnut and malt, with near-zero acidity and a heavy, syrupy body.
  3. What monsooning is: after harvest, dried green coffee is spread in open-sided coastal warehouses during the south-west monsoon. The humid sea air makes the beans swell and turn pale gold, and the coffee loses most of its acidity. Monsooned Malabar Arabica Coffee is a registered Geographical Indication (GI) in India.
  4. Why it fits London menus: the body carries through milk, which is why roasters often use Monsooned Malabar in espresso blends, and the low acidity suits batch brew and cold brew.
  5. Our other speciality coffees, including single-serve dip bags, are listed below.

Questions from London buyers

What does Monsooned Malabar coffee taste like?

Heavy-bodied with very low acidity. The Falcon House lot cups with dark cacao, earthy spice, pipe tobacco, toasted walnut and malt.

Is Monsooned Malabar Arabica or Robusta?

Both species can be monsooned. The Falcon House's Monsooned Malabar AA is 100% Arabica.

Why is Monsooned Malabar so low in acidity?

During 12–16 weeks of exposure to humid monsoon air, the green beans absorb moisture and swell. This changes their structure, and the roasted coffee loses most of its acidity while gaining body.
